Mythbusters: Test Your Employment Law Knowledge – In this session, we’ll figure out what is fact or fiction in the employment-law arena.  We’ll cover scenarios that highlight several misconceptions about various aspects of the law, including in the areas of wage and hour, payroll deductions, severance agreements, pre-employment inquiries, record-keeping practices, discrimination issues, and FMLA/ADA obligations. This interactive session will help you distinguish the myth from reality so that you can help your organizations remain compliant.

Teresa Shulda, a partner in Foulston Siefkin’s Employment & Labor Practice Group, has been litigating workplace disputes and advising on employment law matters for more than 20 years. Much of Teresa’s practice includes advising clients on compliance-related issues and litigation-avoidance tactics. Working together with human resource departments, company owners, and in-house legal counsel, Teresa crafts strategies that meet the company’s goals and fulfill federal and state requirements.

Teresa also regularly defends employers against discrimination claims, including those involving age, race, religion, national origin, gender, disability, and FMLA allegations.

    1. Understanding fact or fiction in the employment-law arena.
    2. Highlight several misconceptions about various aspects of the law.
