Let's kick off the second half of the year with a presentation on mental health! Robyn Nienstedt-Whitaker and Kerry Moyer will be joining us and presenting on the topic "Mental Health Begins with ME!"
Robyn Nienstedt-Whitaker has been with Crosswinds for over 13 years - she began her career doing adult case management in various counties (Lyon, Morris, Coffey, Osage, and Wabaunsee) and during the last 6 years she has been devoted to running a group home for adults with severe mental illnesses. She is a certified trainer for Mental Health First Aid and Managing Aggressive Behaviors, and in ONE SEMEMSTSER she will graduate with her master's degree in human resources emphasis in Organizational Development and Leadership. Her passions involve cultivating relationships with employees along with watching her five birdfeeders! Robyn also enjoys traveling with her family to ensure that her children are aware of a world out there worth exploring!
Kerry Moyer has worked in the mental health community for 23 years, he graduated from Emporia State University and resides in Emporia with his wife Sarah and their children Edward and Miles. Kerry is a Training and Development Specialist as well as a Community-Based Services Case Manager for Crosswinds Counseling and Wellness in Emporia, KS. He provides several training models and staff development opportunities for Crosswinds staff and community partners. He is a member of the Crosswinds Disaster Response Team with F.E.M.A. certifications in disaster response. Some of Kerry's certifications also include - Managing Aggressive Behavior, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training, Mental Health First Aid, and Pediatric CPR/First Aid.
