    Presentation:

Addressing Mental Health in the Workplace

Organizations today are focused on supporting the physical health of their employees while often overlooking their mental health. Our June 10th presentation will review the recognized and unrecognized impact of mental illness in the workplace and what businesses can do to help their employees lead a complete and full healthy life.

    About the Speaker:

Rodney Longhofer is in the beginning of his second career. Having retired from Johnson and Johnson after 21 years, he is now ready to focus his attention on unmasking the stigma associated with mental illness. Having both personal and professional experiences in the field of mental health, Rodney hopes to inspire others to get the help they deserve as well as educate the community on the importance of a healthy mind. As an active board member of the Valeo Foundation and Friends of Johnson County Mental Health, Rodney’s focus to accomplish this goal will be to connect mental health centers with the local businesses they serve through educational presentations and Mental Health First Aid courses.

Rodney is a 1988 graduate of Emporia State University and has been married to his wife Molly for 26 years. They have two children, Jackson and Neva, and reside in Overland Park.
